Fewer things, chosen better.
Amaani started as a small showroom on The Broadway in Crawley, selling a handful of sofas we'd tested ourselves. The electronics came later, for the same reason: it was hard to find a shop that cared as much about how a television looked switched off as how it looked switched on.
What we look for
Materials that age well. Construction you can repair. Designs that will still look right in ten years. We'd rather stock one excellent lamp than six average ones, so the range is deliberately short.
How we work
Every product is tested in the showroom before it goes on the site. Furniture is delivered by our own two-person crews. Warranty claims are handled by the same people who sold you the piece. And because we take payment by telephone, there's always a conversation before money changes hands — which is where the best advice happens.
The team
We're a team of twelve: buyers, a furniture technician, two delivery crews and the people who answer the phone. Most of us have worked in furniture, audio or photography for a long time and have opinions about it.
